The Tera Orb (Japanese: テラスタルオーブ Terastal Orb) is a Key Item introduced in Generation IX. It allows a Trainer’s Pokémon to Terastallize, granting new abilities and often changing the Pokémon's type — a strategic twist that can turn the tide of any battle.
🌀 In-Game Functionality:
Once per battle, a Pokémon can use the Tera Orb to Terastallize. After activation, the orb must be recharged at a Pokémon Center or at an unvisited Tera Raid crystal — with exceptions such as during Titan Pokémon battles, Pokémon League challenges, and inside Area Zero.
In Tera Raid Battles, the orb begins uncharged and requires three damaging moves to activate — or only two in the case of the Stellar Form Terapagos battle in The Indigo Disk. After this final battle, the orb becomes overcharged and no longer needs recharging between battles.
